Georgia Tech takes ACC men's golf title

Georgia Tech added to its collection of ACC hardware Sunday as the Yellow Jackets captured the ACC men’s golf championship at Old North State Club.

It was the Yellow Jackets’ 14th team championship as they rolled to a seven-stroke victory over Virginia. Georgia Tech finished at 27-under par 837, playing the final round in rainy, breezy and cool conditions.
The Cavaliers were led by Ben Rusch, who won the ACC individual championship, becoming the first Virginia golfer since Pete Arend in 1955 to win the league title.
Florida State finished third in the team competition, Virginia Tech and Clemson tied for fourth followed by Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest, N.C. State, Maryland and Boston College.
Earlier this month, Duke claimed its 17th women's golf championship led by medialist Lindy Duncan.
